INSPIRE & BE INSPIRED
design better streets for all
To expand our imaginations and develop new tools for better streets, the Future Design of Streets platform is sharing design ideas and exploring new ways to view street spaces, bringing together experiences and knowledge from different cities and areas.
The Platform forms a knowledge centre and is involved in (strategic) design projects, (academic) research, and the organisation of various activities (workshops, debates) on street design: events, library, tools, projects. Since 2020, more than 100 people – from 18 countries and different professional fields – were brought together in several events and projects (conference, workshops, exhibitions, webinars). In September 2023, the association published The Future Design of Streets. Looking to streets as a space for sport, physical activity, and play will bring new challenges on how to transform existing streets, making our daily living areas more inclusive and healthier. For all, young and old.
