A Beijing 2008 Olympian and former international badminton player, Iran-born Kaveh Mehrabi joined the IOC Sports Department in December 2014 to lead the section in charge of relations and engagement with athletes and athlete-related programmes. Following the creation of the IOC Athletes’ Department in 2021 as part of the implementation of Olympic Agenda 2020+5, Kaveh was appointed as the Director of the Department.
